EDITOR'S PICKS: 7 Things To Do Today May 10

Framingham Garden Club will hold its annual spring plant sale today from 9 a.m. to noon at the Academy Building on the campus of Cushing Memorial Park.

Below are my editor's picks for things to do today, Saturday, May 10 

  • McAuliffe 5K Run/Walk: The Christa McAuliffe Regional Charter Public School will hold its 5th Annual 5K this morning. Click here for more details.
  • Health Fair: St. Andrews Episcopal Church will host a free community health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 3 Maple St.  Along with education resources, there will be screening for cholesterol and bone density along with other resource. There will acupuncture and other complementary and alternative healing medicine also available.
  • Peter Rabbit's Birthday Party: Fay School in Southborough is hosting a birthday party this morning at 10 for Peter Rabbit. No birthday for Peter would be complete without a juicy carrot to munch on. With the help of his little sister Flopsy, Peter ventures into Farmer McGregor's garden in search of the tasty treat. This modern adaptation of the classic Beatrix Potter tale is presented with large colorful hand puppets by Pumpernickel Puppets. This event is free to attend but space is limited so please register online at www.fayschool.org/saturdays.
  • Plant Sale: Framingham Garden Club will hold its annual spring plant sale today from 9 a.m. to noon at the Academy Building on the campus of Cushing Memorial Park.  Purchase from a variety of plants from member’s gardens. Framingham Garden Club member Barbara P. Bird will also be selling water color originals too.
  • Tale as Old As Time: Framingham High School Drama Company will stage Disney's Beauty & The Beast tonight. This is the third of four shows. The curtain rises at 7 in the high school's auditorium.  Tickets may be ordered online at http://www.showtix4u.com The final show is tomorrow evening.
  • Fried Dough & Rides: The carnival is in town this Mother's Day weekend.  At Pinefield Plaza in Saxonville, the Carnival is sponsored by the Framingham Rotary, with proceeds to be used to benefit local community services.  The carnival will be open today from 1 to 10 p.m. and Mother's Day from 1 to 8 p.m.  The midway is supplied by Cushing Amusements.
  • Elementary School PlayPotter Road Elementary School students will stage their final performance of Porridge tonight at Cameron Middle School. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the door.
