Editor's Picks for Weekend Events in Framingham

Framingham Youth Football & Cheerleading will travel to Norwood to open its season Sunday.

Many weekends there are more things to do in Framingham than hours in the day, but  as this is Labor Day weekend things are a bit slower.

Below are my picks for things to do this weekend in Framingham.

Feel free to add events you think are worthy in the comment box below or post a event in the Framingham Patch calendar.

Sunday:
Framingham Youth Football & Cheerleading will travel to Norwood to open its season Sunday.

6th grade: 9 a.m., upper field
5th grade: 9 a.m., lower field
4th grade: noon, lower field

Parents: Framingham Patch is looking for bloggers to post recaps of each game or provide slideshow of photos from the Norwood games. To blog, click here.

Labor Day: Celebrate Labor Day by taking a hike with the family! Join the Appalachian Mountain Club at the Nobscot Scout Reservation in Framingham and Sudbury; and the former home of Nipmuc Native Americans and a favorite haunt of Thoreau's. This park has shady, wide trails and tons of history. We'll visit the site of a 1700s smallpox graveyard and take in the incredible views at 600 feet from Tippling Rock.

Most of the walking is easy, but come prepared to take on the hill - the view alone is worth it! Bring plenty of water, closed-toed shoes, and some snacks to enjoy along the way. Click here, to find out more details and to register.
