EDITOR'S PICKS: Frescafe Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary

The New England Patriots will battle the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game.

Below are my editor's picks for things to do today, Sunday, Jan. 19.

  • FREE COFFEE: Frescafe is celebrating its 1-year anniversary this weekend and today, Jan. 19 with every meal purchase patrons will get free coffee. The downtown Framingham establishment serves great french toast, omelets, pancakes, etc. It is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. (It will also be open Monday, the holiday, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. too).
  • HISTORY CENTER HIGHLIGHTS: See gems from the Framingham History Center collection as you've never seen them before at a presentation today at 2 p.m. at the Edgell Memorial Library. Admission $5. Mark Maiden spent the last several months working with Framingham History Center Curator Dana Dauterman Ricciardi and photographing special items from the Center's collection chosen for their history and their aesthetic qualities. See how lighting, perspective and a close-up look bring these historic objects to life. Hear why these pieces warranted this attention.
  • PLAYOFF FOOTBALL: The New England Patriots will battle the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship. Kick off is at 3 p.m. and can be watched on CBS stations. Go Pats!
