Editor's Picks: London-Themed Show, Keefe Open House and Super MegaFest

Framingham High School Drama Company presents No Place Like London: A Musical Review tonight at 7:30; this is a one-night only show!

Many weekends there are more things to do in Framingham than hours in the day, so below are my editor's picks for things to do today, Saturday, Nov. 23. Check back tomorrow for my picks for Sunday.


SATURDAY: 

  • London Calling: Framingham High School Drama Company presents No Place Like London: A Musical Review. Directed by Chris Brindley and Donna Wresinski, the show features more than three dozen members of the Framingham community in a benefit performance to raise money for the spring 2014 trip to London for members of the high school's drama company. Songs will include your favorites from such such musicals as: Sweeney Todd, My Fair Lady, Oliver, Blood Brothers, Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Edwin Drood, Matilda, Billy Elliot, Camelot, and Cats. Tonight is the ONLY show. Curtain drops at 7:30 p.m. at Framingham High. There is a pre-show reception at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 online at www.showtix4u.com. If available at the door, tickets will be $15.
  • Super MegaFest: This one-of-a-kind fan event takes place today 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and tomorrow, Nov. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel. Stars expected to be attendance include Barbara Eden of I Dream of Jeannie fame, Christopher Lloyd, best known for his role of Doc Brown from Back to the Future movies, Tom Felton, best known for his role of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series, Eliza Dushku, best know for her role of Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff series Angel, John Heder, best known for the movie Napoleon Dynamite, Mia St. John, five-time World Boxing Champion and Carroll Spinney, the voice of Big Bird and Oscar and so many more. Tickets at the door - $25 per day or $30 for the weekend adult and $7 per day children under age 12 or $10 for the weekend.
  • Go Under the Sea: Hemenway Elementary School's fifth graders stages its final two performances of Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. today at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets in advance are $10 adults, $8 children and can be purchased by emailing THELITTLEMERMAIDHEMENWAY@gmail.com If available, tickets at the door will be more expensive - $10 students and $12 adults. Children 2 and under, if sitting on lap, are free. 
  • Playoff Football: Framingham State University football will take on Ithaca College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship today at noon in New York.
  • Open House: Keefe Technical School in Framingham will hold its annual open house and breakfast today from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Families and 7th & 8th grade students are welcome to enjoy a breakfast put on by the Culinary Arts students, as well as visit all the career and technical programs. Parents may attend presentations from school administrators, teachers, the special education department and students. Students from Framingham, Ashland, Natick, Holliston and Hopkinton attend the regional high school.
