EDITOR'S PICKS: Outdoor Party, Godspell, Skating, Beer and Playoff Football

Outdoors RX, a program of the Appalachian Mountain Club, will hold an outdoor winter party this morning at Cushing Memorial Park at 10.

Below are my editor's picks for things to do today, Saturday, Jan. 11.

  • WINTER OUTDOOR PARTY: Outdoors RX, a program of the Appalachian Mountain Club, will hold an outdoor winter party this morning at Cushing Memorial Park at 10. Organized activities include snow painting, winter games, blowing frozen bubbles, nature discovery and more! Families are encouraged to wear layers, water-proof mittens or gloves, and good shoes for the winter. Pre-registration is suggested at AMCOutdoorsRx@outdoors.org.
  • CAMPAIGN TRAIL: On Thursday, one of Framingham's three state representatives Tom Conroy announced he plans to run for Massachusetts Treasurer. Today at 1:30 p.m. Conroy and Framingham State Rep. Christ Walsh, both democrats will meet with voters at Jack's Abby Brewing in Framingham.
  • GODSPELL: It's the final night for Godspell at Framingham High. Directed by Donna Wresinski, the musical based on the Gospel According to St Matthew, tells the story of the last seven days of Christ's life. Curtain rises at 7:30. Tickets are available online www.showtix4u.com. Tickers are $12 online and $15 at the door.
  • PLAYOFF FOOTBALL:  The New England Patriots (12-4) will host the Colts (12-5) at Gillette Stadium tonight at 8:15. The second round NFL playoff game will be televised on CBS.
  • GOLD GOING FOR GOLD: Tonight, figure skater Gracie Gold, who held a closed practice at Loring Arena earlier this week, will skate in the long program of the 2014 U.S. National Championships at TD Garden in Boston. After the short program on Thursday night, Gold, who was born in Newton, is in first place. To watch a video of Gold during her practice at Loring Arena in Framingham, with legendary coach Frank Carroll, click here. The 2014 Olympic team will be named after the U.S. National skating champion is crowned.
