Oktoberfest Celebration Friday Benefits Hoops & Homework Program
To help keep Hoops & Homework program running, the advisory board is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration Friday from 7-11 p.m. at the Framingham Elks.
Last year, Town Meeting voters agreed to fund a Hoops & Homework program for children living in Precinct 17.
The after-school program is for children in grades K-5, and provides a safe, nurturing environment, a healthy snack, exercise, homework assistance, and opportunities to increase reading and math skills through a variety of fun activities. The program is run with staff and community volunteers.
To help keep the program running, the Hoops & Homework Advisory Board is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration Friday, Oct. 4 from 7-11 p.m. at the Framingham Elks.
Advisory board members include Laura Keith, Elsa Aviza, Pat Dunne, Ned Price, Herb Chasan, Anne Sullivan and Joan Rastani.
Tickets are $25 per person and includes food, entertainment and door prizes. Cash bar. If you can not attend but would like to support the program you can make a donation, too. For ticket information call 508-879-2029 or email elsaaviza@aol.com.
