Established in 1984, the Framingham Adult English as a Second Language Plus typically has more than 600 students each semester. Funded from state and federal grants, as well as community and private donations, the program operates in conjunction with Framingham Public Schools (Fuller Middle) and Keefe Technical Vocational. It provides free English language instruction and life skills training to Framingham area immigrants from more than 30 countries. The program helps students work towards their GED, become proficient in English, develop reading and writing skills, and pass citizenship courses.
