<p>In 1948, the Framingham Heart Study began research on the causes of heart disease, in conjunction with the National Heart Institute , with more than 5,000 Framingham residents</p> <p>Many preventative tasks, like diet, exercise and the use of aspirin, is based on research from the study.</p> <p>The research is known as the "Study that changed America's heart."</p> <p>Today, the Framingham Heart Study, in conjunction with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and Boston University, continues its research, but now with the third generation of the original participants.</p>
