The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism
The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports families affected by autism. The organization is named for local sports hero Doug Flutie's son, who has the condition. The foundation seeks to increase awareness of the challenges of living with the disorder, and helps families find resources to help address these challenges. The foundation was established in 2000. Over the last decade-plus, the Fluties and their foundation have raised millions of dollars for autism. One of its signature events is a 5K road race, held in Natick every fall.
