Judge sentenced the 23-year-old to 2 years in jail on the felony motor vehicle homicide charge to be followed by an additional 1 year in jail on the serious bodily injury charge, with an additional 1 year in jail suspended for 4 years.
A Haverhill woman has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the Dec. 3, 2011 motor vehicle crash that killed a Framingham State University student and injured three others. Brooke Uttley, 23, of Haverhill, pleaded guilty in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn to charges of felony motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily injury. Middlesex Superior Court Judge S. Police searched the Framingham man and found "1.1 ounces of marijuana and $700 cash.
A Framingham man faces drug charges after someone reported him smoking marijuana while standing under Westborough's East Main Street railroad bridge Tuesday. Police searched Jaryn J. Platt of Framingham and found "1.1 ounces of marijuana and $700 cash," Police Chief Alan Gordon said in a press release. Officers Greg McRae and Michael Daniels arrested Platt and charged him with possession of a Class D drug with intent to distribute, and possession of more than one ounce of a Class D drug, Gordon said. The incident was reported around 9:30 a.m. Police found Platt "standing next to the railroad tracks" on Willow Street, Gordon said.
