Bay Staters like Hillary Clinton and support same-sex marriage, but nothing compares to their love of Red Sox Manager John Farrell. The Sox manager received the lowest disapproval percentage in Public Policy Polling history – even better than Abraham Lincoln, Mother Theresa and Santa Claus. What a difference a year makes for the Sox. The team’s hot start has 27 percent of those who took the survey predicting a World Series. Only 3 percent said the Sox will not make the playoffs. Sixty-four percent of those surveyed said Farrell is doing a good job. Only 1 percent disapproved of Farrell’s work this year. Framingham Toddler To Be Honored at Fenway Park

Autumn Buxton has been named a Pedal Partner of the 34th annual Pan-Massachusetts Challenge and will be honored at Fenway Park tomorrow, May 19.

Autumn Buxton of Framingham has been named a Pedal Partner of the 34th annual Pan-Massachusetts Challenge and will be honored at Fenway Park tomorrow, May 19. As a PMC Pedal Partner, Autumn, who is just 22 months old, will be matched with a team of cyclists who will ride in the August event in her honor.  A vital part of the PMC weekend, Pedal Partners inspire more than 5,500 cyclists as they ride up to 190-miles across Massachusetts to raise money for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. Flyers Softball Team Remains in First Place with 15th Victory

With a win over rival Newton North, the Framingham High girls softball team improved their record to 15-2, and remain in first place in the Bay State Conference with 3 games remaining in the season.

Written by Erin Powers On a day dedicated to honoring the seniors, the Framingham High softball team took a key step in its quest for the Bay State Conference title with a win over visiting Carey Division rival Newton North.  The Tigers took a one-run lead into the sixth inning when the Flyers’s bats came alive.  Senior catcher Gia Ferreira (3 for 3) ignited the Flyers’s offense,  hitting  a 1-out double.  Junior Cassie McKinnon, running for Ferreira, moved to third on a fielder’s choice hit by junior second-baseman Leslie Ferreira.  With runners on the corners, junior pitcher Jess Proia worked through a several pitch at bat before rocketing a triple to centerfield, scoring McKinnon and Ferreira. Memorial Service Thursday for Former Teacher, Coach Robert Jachowicz

A memorial celebration of Robert Jachowicz's life will be held Thursday, May 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Eagles on Park Street in Framingham.

Robert Joseph Jachowicz, age 84, died peacefully Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his home in Framingham. He was the husband of 63 years to Phyllis M. (Rosicky) Jachowicz, also from Lynn. He was the son of the late Joseph and Emily (Lovely) Jachowicz. He was a graduate and standout football player at Lynn English High School and won a four-year full scholarship to the College of the Holy Cross, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. Jachowicz had an extensive, fulfilling career in Framingham as an educator, coach and artist. Following college he began teaching and coaching in the Framingham School System as an 8th grade teacher at the Framingham Middle School, now the Danforth Art Museum. He worked for more than 40 years at Framingham High …

Framingham Hosts Professional Frisbee Teams

The Boston Whitecaps competed at Bowditch Field on Mother's Day, defeating a team from Washington DC to stay undefeated in the inaugural Major League Ultimate season.

During the inaugural season of Major League Ultimate, the Boston Whitecaps competed at their home field in Framingham on Sunday against the DC Current.  Ultimate is a sport similar to soccer during which players try to pass a Frisbee toward end zones to score.  The Whitecaps defeated the Current 24-13, putting the team at 4-0 in their first season.  The next home game for the Boston Whitecaps is May 18 at Bowditch Field.

Flyers Lose to Needham; Senior Sets Framingham High Javelin Record

Andrew Roschen set the Framingham High School record in the javelin and qualified for the state tourney. He also won the long jump and finished second in the 100 meter race.

Framingham High boys track team lost to Needham 80-51. We had some "great performances in a losing cause," as we rested some of our  distance athletes for states and Thursday's meet against Milton," said Framingham High boys track head coach Chris Collins. Senior captain Andrew Roschen had a great meet. He set a Framingham High School record in the javelin with a throw of 160 feet. The throw also qualified him for the state tourney. Roschen won the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, 2.5-inches. The leap qualified him for the state. He also finished second in the 100 meter with a run of 11.7 seconds. The Flyers won the 4X100 relay in 49.4 seconds with Brian Bilodeau, Rob Blake, Matt Scrantona nd Chris Bloomingdale. Senior captain Andrew …
