The Town of Framingham will host a remembrance ceremony for the 11th anniversary of those who lost their lives in the tragic events of September 11, 2001, including the 17 people with ties to Framingham. The public ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Sept. 11 Living Memorial inside Cushing Memorial Park. The 30-minute program, will include solemn remarks, a reading of the names on the memorial, prayer offerings and a presentation of the colors by the Framingham Fire and Police Department Color and Honor Guard. Cameron Middle School held an assembly for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to discuss heroism, diversity and tolerance post 9/11. Students in each grade level also were selected to read original poems at each assembly.
Cameron Middle School held assemblies this week for students to discuss and extend lessons on heroism, diversity and tolerance post 9/11. Framingham Patch attended the 6th grade assembly. Similar assemblies were held for the seventh and eighth grades. During the assembly, members of the school's chorale sang patriotic songs. Students watched a short documentary on the creation of the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero and then the assmbled grade listened as their classmates read original poetry. Sixth grade students selected to read or have a staff member read their poem were: Erin Macqueen, Nicole DeFlorio, Bella Ko, Tim Driscoll, Zoe Silverman, Juliana Torres, Elizabeth McGrann, Matt Martino, Jacob Laskosky, Megan Jaeger and Alexander Moore. …

This morning the sun shone on the memorial to 9/11 victims with ties to Framingham at Cushing Memorial Park. It was a quiet place with no visitors. Newly planted flags and spring flowers adorned each of the 17 individual markers -- Christine Barbuto, Neilie Casey, Tara Shea Creamer, Linda George, Lisa Fenn Gordenstein, Paige Farley-Hackel, Todd Hill, Herb Homer, Robin Kaplan, Barbara Keating, Judy Larocque, Susan Mackay, Laura Lee Morabito, Charlie Murphy, Darin Pontell, Meta Fuller Walker and John J.
