New 'Significant' Details About Body Disposal Causes Moccia Trial Delay

Paul Moccia, of Dedham, is accused of killing a Framingham man in March 2009.

Potentially damaging evidence in the murder trial of a Dedham man has caused yet another delay that now pins a trial date to nearly three years after the alleged crime. Prosecutors handed over new witness statements Monday in Norfolk County Superior Court to defense attorneys for Paul Moccia that prosecutors said relates to the brutal fashion Moccia and a co-conspirator disposed of Angel Ramirez's body. Moccia faces first-degree murder charges along with Daniel Bradley, of Westwood. Investigators allege the two men shot and killed Ramirez, 37 of Framingham, over a five-figure drug debt that Moccia owed to the victim. Bail Hearing Postponed for Man Accused of Killing Framingham Man

Daniel Bradley's lawyer will file a motion for a Norfolk County judge to reconsider bail.

A bail hearing set for yesterday, Aug. 2 at 2 p.m. for murder suspect Daniel Bradley, of Westwood, was postponed. Bradley is accused of conspiring with Paul Moccia, of Dedham, in the alleged killing of Angel Antonio Ramirez, of Framingham, in March 2009. Bradley and Moccia are both charged with first-degree murder. Bradley's attorney, Kevin Reddington, is seeking to get Bradley out of jail and out on either an anklet, house arrest or both as he awaits trial. Just last week, Bradley's trial date was set for February 2012, 30 months after his June 2009 arrest. A Norfolk County Superior Court official said Reddington hadn't filed a motion for Judge Kenneth Fishman to reconsider his May decision to deny bail. Fishman could then either rule on …

Fall Trial Date Eyed for Man Facing Murder Charge

A Dedham man and a Westwood man are accused of killing and conspiring to kill Angel Ramirez, of Framingham, in March 2009.

The first degree murder trial of Paul Moccia, of Dedham, won't begin until at least the fall, his attorney predicted Tuesday. A May 31 trial date was set prior to attorneys agreeing to sever the trials of Moccia and alleged co-conspirator Daniel Bradley, of Westwood. Both men are accused of killing and conspiring to kill Angel Ramirez, of Framingham, in March 2009.  Moccia has brought on Robert Sheketoff as a court-appointed attorney, which has caused the latest delay. Steven Boozang, who has represented Moccia since 2009, will stay on as co-council. "[Sheketoff] will bring himself up to speed quickly, but we aren't going to proceed to trial until we're ready," Boozang said outside the Norfolk County Superior courtroom. Assistant district …
