Nobscot is losing another business and soon there will be another vacant store in the Nobscot Shopping Plaza. Paul Ashton, the owner of Annie's Book Stop/Espresso Paulo announced he is closing shop. He sent an e-mail to framcom, an online community bulletin board for framingham. "It seems that all good things must come to an end, and I'm afraid that applies to my stewardship of Annie's Book Stop/Espresso Paulo. The store is in the process of closing down. There is a need to clear all stock and fittings, so there are some amazing prices on books, retail display and coffee service equipment," he wrote in an e-mail to the list group. Organized by Colleen Biron, Fuller Middle School 8th grade students held a car wash in Nobscot last weekend. The students raised more than $600 for end-of-the-year activities. Annie's Book Stop generously donated the water hook-up for the car wash.

Rev. Susan Bowman was one of the first female priests to be ordained by the Episcopal church. She was in Framingham yesterday to read from and sign copies of her memoir "Lady Father."
Yesterday, one of the first female priests to be ordained by the Episcopal church Rev. Susan Bowman was at Annie's Book Stop & Espresso Paulo in Framingham. The Albany-based priest was a long way from home. She said she came to Framingham after visiting a friend, she met online. The Massachusetts friend has a connection to Endicott College and she spoke there earlier. Rev. Bowman read from and signed copies of her memoir "Lady Father" yesterday. Residents can still still receive an autographed copy of her book by visiting her website at http://ladyfather.com. Bowman, a writer and a grandmother, was ordained as an Episcopal priest in the mid 1980s. She said she wrote the book to tell of her experiences of discrimination during the …

Students in Framingham High School's Photo 2 program will hold an exhibit of their work at Annie's Book Stop/Espresso Paulo (Nobscot Shopping Center) for the month of January. The juried exhibit of approximately 40 original framed photos are the works of 20+ Framingham High upperclassmen, enrolled in Rebecca Cauchon's second year photography program. On Sunday, Jan. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. a reception for the student photographers is scheduled, at which time the judges' decisions for juried photos will be announced, including the People's Choice Award.
