Sanderson Scores A Hit With Fans

Former Boston Bruin and NHL hockey legend Derek Sanderson signed copies of his newest book at The Paper Store in Shoppers World in Framingham Saturday.

Those waiting in line came from three states - Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire - to get a chance to shake the hand of one of the all-time Bruins greats Derek Sanderson and have him sign his newest book. The former Boston Bruin and NHL hockey legend signed copies of his newest book at The Paper Store in Shoppers World Saturday as well as chat with fans and pose for a few photos. Sanderson's new autobiography is Crossing The Line: The Outrageous Story of a Hockey Original. The book is scheduled to become a movie too. Boston Bruin Derek Sanderson will be at The Paper Store in Shoppers World Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sign copies of his new book only. Public is invited to attend.

Former Boston Bruins player and hockey legend Derek Sanderson will sign copies of his new autobiography Crossing The Line: The Outrageous Story of a Hockey Original tomorrow, March 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Paper Store in Shoppers World in Framingham. This page-turner recounts the fascinating career of “The Turk”, as he was nicknamed, and offers an unfiltered glimpse at the excitement, dangers, and consequences of life in the fast lane. The book is already on track to become a movie. Local authors and McCarthy Elementary School third grade teachers James L. Parr and Kathy Kenney-Marshall sold and signed dozens of copies of their newest books at the Fountain Street Open Studios event Friday night. Illustrator Eva Burns, who worked with Parr on his book also signed books. There were many teachers and students in attendance at the book signing. The books were published by Damianos Publishing, a new venture by Lynne Damianos. Parr's latest is My Name is James and other poems for all ages. It is a collection of witty and whimsical rhymes on a variety of topics from animals to school to growing up to the mundane activities of life/illustrated with line drawings and doodles. The two authors will sell and autograph their latest works between 5:30 and 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at the Fountain Street Studios at Damianos Photography/Publishing located on the fourth floor east. Former Red Sox pitcher Bill "Spaceman" Lee will sign copies of the book Fenway Park: 100 Years, The Official, Definitive History of America's Most Beloved Ballpark at the Barnes and Noble Booksellers in Shoppers World Thursday, June 7 at 7 p.m. The public event is free, however a copy of the book, with receipt from any Barnes & Noble, is required to join the signing line. Lee, a southpaw, played for the Boston Red Sox from 1969-1978. He was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2008, as the team's record-holder for the most games pitched by a left hander (321).
