Framingham Receives $483,568 Federal Grant
18 Massachusetts communities, including Framingham, will receive more than $63.4 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Framingham will use the money to make improvements to Butterworth Park and for road construction.
Press Release: U.S. Senators John Kerry and Scott Brown, along with Framingham's Congressman Edward Markey, announced that 18 Massachusetts cities and towns, including Framingham, will receive more than $63.4 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to support economic development projects, increase affordable housing opportunities, improve area homeless shelters, and expand support services for low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their families. I'm not sure why Ed Markey felt it was necessary to take a slap at the Tea Party in his comments. Is this really the time to criticize and condemn? As long as politicians focus on one-upmanship and partisan attacks their approval rating will stay in the sewer.   more ›
