Framingham Earns Baystate A Division Championship

The last time the Framingham 12 year olds won the championship was in 2000, 12 years ago.

Managed by Rob Marifiote and assistant coaches Jim Gavagan and Bob Modica, Framingham 12 year old boys took home the grand prize, the Baystate A Division Championship. *** Over 28 games, the team had record of 21-7 (tied with the most wins), batting average of .350, 40 Home Runs, 235 total hits, 212 Runs For and 109 Runs Against as they powered their way through each round. They had strong pitching to go along with their powerful offense as well. Team members were Jarrod Marifiote, Jake Modica, Michael Gavagan, Jake Brockway, Sam Phipps, Michael Gill, Joey Tramontozzi, Patrick Watton, Brendan Wilcox, Mason Witherow, Craig Tucker and Simon Cahill-Farella Round 1: Framingham started out very strong going 5-1 and took home the Gold trophy …

Thanks Susan for posting this story! These boys worked hard and sacrificed alot and deserved to win the Baystate A Division Championship! They had a tremendous summer and I am so proud of what they accomplished. Framingham Baseball U13 in Tournament of Champions

The Framingham Baseball travel Lou Tompkins U13 team shutout Arlington in the last game of the regular season.

The Framingham Baseball travel Lou Tompkins U13 team shutout Arlington in the last game of the regular season. Lefty Alex Leombruno pitched 5 scoreless innings, and lefty reliever Chris Grome came in and closed the game, together allowing just 3 hits in 7 innings. John Baker provided stellar defense to keep help keep Arlington off the board. Brady Bykowski, George Tremblay and Alex Leombruno had multiple hits for Framingham. Framingham has advanced to the Tournament of Champions and will play Newton on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

Wednesday night, it down poured. To get the baseball game in, a group of 14 year old baseball players had to clean up the field for an hour, before they could play.

Framingham Rebels Win the Duquette Academy Tournament

The Rebels competed in four tournaments this summer; as they placed third in the Connecticut Bombers Invite and second place at the Wooden Bat Classic in Cape Cod.

The 14U AAU Framingham Rebels went up against AAU teams that draw their top players from multiple towns at last weekend’s Dan Duquette Summer Heat tournament in Hinsdale. The Rebels, an AAU travel team formed in 2011 consisting of players exclusively from Framingham, emerged champions after going 5-0 against competition from NY and MA. Key pitching by Franky Damata, Sammy Phipps, AJ Tunno, Nick Cronin, Zach MacGregor and Nick Benoit fronted the strong defense of Jamie Brigham, Christian Seariac, Nate Duda, Griffin McGann and Evan Hermanson. Two walk off hits in 2 come-from-behind games by AJ Tunno and Nate Duda, along with a complete game tossed by Nick Benoit, propelled the Rebels through the semi-finals where they defeated the Levittown …

Miss Jr. Framingham Crowned

A Cameron Middle School student was crowned Miss Jr. Framingham, with a Walsh Middle School student named first runner-up.

Sabrina Bondar, 12, (right) was crowned the first Miss Jr. Framingham on Tuesday night. She will be an 8th grade student at Cameron Middle School in the fall. She is pictured with Abby Roll, 11, (left) who was first runner-up in the inaugural pageant. Roll will be a 6th grade student at Walsh Middle School in the fall. Ironically, the two girls are cousins.
