Once-accused killers Paul Moccia, 51 of Dedham, and Daniel Bradley, 50 of Westwood, maintained their innocence Friday after prosecutors dropped the charges against the two men in an alleged March 2009 murder. The two men, separately, spoke softly and with few words to the media following Friday afternoon's short appearance in Norfolk Superior Court, only stating that they looked forward to spending the holiday weekend with their families after being held without bail for nearly three years awaiting trail. "I just feel like it was a longtime coming," said Karen Regan, Moccia's sister. "Clearly there is no evidence in this case." Accused killers Paul Moccia, of Dedham, and Daniel Bradley, of Westwood, will soon walk out of prison free men for the first time since their June 2009 arrests. The Norfolk County District Attorney's Office dropped first-degree murder charges against the two men Friday afternoon in Norfolk Superior Court. The men were accused of killing Angel Antonio Ramirez, 37 of Framingham, over a five-figure drug debt owed by Moccia to Ramirez. Prosecutors alleged Moccia and Bradley lured Ramirez to a Walpole cement plant owned by Bradley's family, and both shot the victim. Robert Moccia, a government witness in his brother's ongoing first-degree murder case, died Monday evening in New Hampshire, his brother's attorney confirmed Tuesday. He was 52. Steven Boozang, Paul Moccia's attorney, declined to comment how the witness' death would effect his client's trial, but extended his condolences. "It's just a tragedy for the family that's gone through a lot the last few years," Boozang said in a phone interview. The prosecution alleges that Moccia aided his brother in a 2009 slaying of a Framingham man, Angel Antonio Ramirez, by following Paul Moccia to Framingham to drop off Ramirez's truck. Daniel Bradley's lawyer will file a motion for a Norfolk County judge to reconsider bail.
A bail hearing set for yesterday, Aug. 2 at 2 p.m. for murder suspect Daniel Bradley, of Westwood, was postponed. Bradley is accused of conspiring with Paul Moccia, of Dedham, in the alleged killing of Angel Antonio Ramirez, of Framingham, in March 2009. Bradley and Moccia are both charged with first-degree murder. Bradley's attorney, Kevin Reddington, is seeking to get Bradley out of jail and out on either an anklet, house arrest or both as he awaits trial. Just last week, Bradley's trial date was set for February 2012, 30 months after his June 2009 arrest. A Norfolk County Superior Court official said Reddington hadn't filed a motion for Judge Kenneth Fishman to reconsider his May decision to deny bail. Fishman could then either rule on …

A Westwood man facing first-degree murder charges in the 2009 killing of a Framingham man is set to go on trial next February. Daniel Bradley of Westwood is accused of murdering 37-year-old Angel Antonio Ramirez with co-conspirator Paul Moccia of Dedham. Bradley's trial date was set for Feb. 6, 2012, while Moccia is set to go on Trial December 5. Prosecutors allege Moccia and Bradley shot and killed Ramirez on March 20, 2009, then dismembered and disposed of Ramirez's body at a concrete plant in Walpole. According to court records, Moccia owed approximately $70,000 in drug money to Ramirez, who allegedly often shipped large quantities of cocaine from the West Coast.
