DA: Framingham Man Tortured, Killed Dog

A District Court judge ordered the Framingham man held on $20,000 cash bail; there is also an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer on him.

A Framingham man was arraigned Monday on animal abuse charges after allegedly killing his dog and disposing of it in a Dumpster, said Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone. Douglas A. Coelho, 27, Beaver Street, Framingham, was arrested Friday night by Framingham Police. “This defendant is alleged to have inflicted extreme cruelty to a helpless animal by striking his own dog, torturing and killing the dog, and then disposing of her in a Dumpster,” Leone said in a press release. “This behavior demonstrates a disturbing and very concerning disregard for life.” Framingham District Court Judge Douglas Stoddart ordered the defendant held on $20,000 cash bail with the condition that he have no contact with domesticated animals. UPDATED: Police: Framingham Man Hog-Tied, Threw and Killed His Dog

A Framingham man was arrested over the weekend and charged with animal cruelty.

A Framingham man was arrested Friday night and charged with animal cruelty after he killed his dog, said police. Douglas A. Coelho, 27, of 126 Beaver St. was to be arraigned in court today, Jan. 7. There also is an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer on him, said Framingham Police Lt. Ron Brandolini. The dog, a black Terrier-type, weighing just 7.5 pounds was found dead in a dumpster, by Coelho's roommate. He then called police. Let Patch save you time.
