Charged with domestic assault and battery.  8:06 a.m. Motor vehicle crash reported at Gregory Rd and Water Street, with report of a car off the roadway into a snowbank. Fire at Housing for the Elderly Saturday Afternoon

A fire was knocked down at the Housing for the Elderly on Saturday.

Framingham fire responded to a fire at 18 Rose Kennedy Lane, which is the Housing for the Elderly, late Saturday afternoon. It is reported that the fire has been knocked down. Visit Framingham Patch for any updates.

UPDATED: Kitchen Fire Puts Masjid E Basheer 'Out of Commission'

Classes at the Al-Falah Islamic School are cancelled, until further notice and Saturday's community BBQ is cancelled.

Framingham Fire Department was able to extinquish a fire quickly at Masjid E Basheer Thursday night, but the damage will cancel classes and activities and close the religious building for a short period of time. Framingham Fire Marshal Joseph Hicks said the fire started in the rear of the building in the kitchen area. "One of the members of church located the fire and attempted to put it out with a fire extinguisher but the fire grew too quickly. They evacuated the building and called 911," said Hicks. When Framingham Fire crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire in the rear of the building," said Hicks. Fire Dept. Extinguishes Clarks Hill Brush Blaze

A brush fire was extinguished near Clarks Hill Saturday evening.

Framingham Fire Department responded to a brush fire near Clarks Hill and Everit Avenue Saturday just before 4 p.m., according to scanner reports. Deputy Fire Chief John Magri said he believes the fire was "typical" and only a small amount of acreage was damaged.

Firefighters Put Out Attic Blaze

The Fire Department responded Sunday night to a house fire on Edgell Road.

Framingham Fire Department personnel put out a fire that engulfed the living room and attic of 480 Edgell Rd. Sunday night.  Flames spread from the home's fireplace, Deputy Fire Chief Rich Garvey said. Fire crews responded to the call around 9:15 p.m., according to initial scanner reports.  "The fire spread up to the attic area and burned the attic out. We opened the [roof] right above where the fire was so that it didn't spread," Garvey said.  The home's owners were not injured in the fire, Garvey said.
