Please Shovel Out The Local Fire Hydrant Today
The state fire marshal and the local fire department ask that as you shovel out from the latest snowstorm, to please dig out the fire hydrant near your home, too.
Editor's Note: We published this Thursday, Jan. 13, but the message still holds. “As you dig your way out of this storm, please adopt your nearest fire hydrant,” said Massachusetts State Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan. “In a fire seconds count, so please help your local firefighters by removing snow from around the hydrant nearest to your home. It could by your house or your neighbor’s that you help them save.” The Framingham Fire Department has roughly 2,200 hydrants in town.
