McCarthy Elementary School PTO is holding its first ever 5K & Fun Run/Walk to benefit the fifth grade class Sunday morning. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., there will be a fun run at 9:15 a.m. and the 5K is at 10 a.m. You can register on site. Residents came together through fundraisers and vigils for the Boston Marathon victims, and the Planning Board postponed a hearing on a much-discussed development.
1. Organized in less than 24 hours, the "Beers for Boston" fundraiser at the Tavern Wednesday night raised more than $8,800 for The One Fund, Jack's Abby Brewing wrote on its Facebook page yesterday. "I still cannot believe the outpouring of support we received for this event," reads the Facebook post. "I think it is safe to say that last night was also the first time there was ever a line outside The Tavern, I hope no one had to wait too long.
