UPDATED Oct. 2: On Friday, Oct. 5, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. both westbound and eastbound lanes of traffic will be detoured from Fountain Street between Winter Street and Pincushion Road while tree removal activities are in progress. Click Here For Map Chouteau Avenue/LaSalle Avenue/Lake Road/Lakeview Avenue Sewer main and water main construction will continue on Chouteau Avenue between LaClede Avenue and Lake Road; as well as on Lakeview Road. While construction is in progress it will be necessary to detour local traffic around the work zone. Laura Nichols, 35, of Framingham, was killed late Saturday after her car crossed into oncoming traffic on Fountain Street.
A 35-year-old Framingham woman was killed late Saturday after the car she was driving crossed the center lane on Fountain Street, triggering a head-on collision. Laura Nichols was alone in her vehicle at the time of the crash, Framingham Police said. The collision was reported about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, near the intersection with Jodie Road. Two people in the other vehicle were taken to Metro West Medical Center at Framingham Union with non-life threatening injuries, said Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Burns. The cause of the crash was not immediately identified by police on Sunday. Nichols was the mother of a 10-year-old daughter, her mother told The Boston Herald on Saturday.
