18th Annual Fountain Street Studios' Open Studios Weekend

The studios will be open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fountain Street Studios, the largest community of artists under one roof in MetroWest,  is holding its 18th Open Studios Weekend Saturday and Sunday. More than 55 artists will open their studios to display and offer for sale many types of art. There will also be musical performances throughout the building. The Spring Into Art event takes place Saturday (today) & Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On display will be original works of art in a variety of media and styles: painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, hand-crafted jewelry, textile and fabric art, collage, installation, paper cuts, assemblage, video art, functional glass art, drawings and more! Fountain Street Studios is holding its annual Winter Open Studios today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 40 artists are opening their studios to display and sell works. In addition to original works of art, such as painting, photography, fabric art, prints, and handcrafted jewelry, visitors will enjoy musical performances, portrait demonstrations and book signings. Participants range from emerging to internationally recognized artists. Original art and crafts will be available for sale, at all price ranges. There are calendars, notebooks, Christmas ornaments, knits, scarves and wall-size original paintings too. Sign up for a class or workshop right here! Makes a great gift for an adult or child, too!

Local authors and McCarthy Elementary School third grade teachers James L. Parr and Kathy Kenney-Marshall sold and signed dozens of copies of their newest books at the Fountain Street Open Studios event Friday night.

Local authors and McCarthy Elementary School third grade teachers James L. Parr and Kathy Kenney-Marshall sold and signed dozens of copies of their newest books at the Fountain Street Open Studios event Friday night. Illustrator Eva Burns, who worked with Parr on his book also signed books. There were many teachers and students in attendance at the book signing. The books were published by Damianos Publishing, a new venture by Lynne Damianos. Parr's latest is My Name is James and other poems for all ages. It is a collection of witty and whimsical rhymes on a variety of topics from animals to school to growing up to the mundane activities of life/illustrated with line drawings and doodles. Kenney-Marshall's book Crumbs from the Table of …

Parr and Kathy Kenney-Marshall will sign copies of their newest books at the Fountain Street Open Studios event Friday night only. The two authors will sell and autograph their latest works between 5:30 and 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at the Fountain Street Studios at Damianos Photography/Publishing located on the fourth floor east.
