Framingham Co-Operative, Natick Federal Savings to Become MutualOne Bank Monday

Online banking and online bill payment will be temporarily unavailable starting today, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. until Monday morning. Bank branches will be closed on Saturday.

Back in March, Framingham Patch reported that Framingham Co-Operative bank and Natick Federal Savings Bank would merger later this year. The merger will take place this weekend, after regulators approved it. The new bank will be called MutualOne Bank. Signs have been appearing on the three locations this week. The combined bank will consist of three full-service banking offices, two located in Framingham and one in Natick, with an administration center in Framingham. "Increasing regulatory and operational expenses make it very difficult for the small community bank to thrive," said Brian K. Framingham Co-Operative Helps Girl Scouts Celebrate Anniversary in Washington DC

Yasmine Ouweijan and Marie Harrington, branch managers, of Framingham Co-operative Bank, led workshops with Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts, who traveled to Washington DC for the national 100th birthday celebration for Girl Scouts.

Framingham Girl Scouts received $2,000 from The Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation to defray the cost for 42 Scouts to travel to the nation’s capital to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts. Founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low, more than 250,000 Girl Scouts from all 50 states and several countries attended a Rock the Mall celebration in Washington D.C. on Saturday, June 9 to celebrate the centennial birthday of Girl Scouts. Framingham Co-operative Foundation Helps Save Programs for People

Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to Program for People.

The Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation and a local contractor joined forces to help a Framingham nonprofit organization continue operations at its Lincoln Street location. Programs for People offers day treatment and employment services to low-income MetroWest residents recovering from severe mental illness. Self-supported for the past 37 years and operating on a tight budget, the agency’s future was in financial jeopardy after notice from the Town of Framingham that the three-story-high, overgrown trees surrounding its building had to be removed for safety reasons. “Thanks to financial assistance from the Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation and excavation provided by PJN Company, our doors will remain open…

Framingham Co-Operative and Natick Federal Savings Banks to Merge

Golden Tones chorus, a 70-voice group of retired people who love to sing and dance, will perform at the Framingham Co-operative Bank, 828 Concord St., as a token of their appreciation for sponsorship from the Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation.   The concert, a selection of sing-and dance-a-long holiday songs is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 15 at 12:30 p.m. “We gave a concert at the Bank last June as part of their customer thank-you week,” said Deborah Marion, Golden Tones director.  “It was to thank them for supporting us with a generous grant, but unbeknownst to us, bank employees videotaped our performance and put it up on YouTube. Step Up To Health Walk With the Parks Moved to Sunday

Framingham Parks & Recreation Step Up to Health: Walk With the Parks kick-off event ahs been moved to Cushing memorial Park on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m., due to the weather forecast. Free hot dogs and cider will be served at the event.

Stay in shape through the fall and winter with the Framingham Parks & Recreation Step Up To Health: Walk with the Parks program.  The kick-off event, due to the weather forecast, has been moved to Sunday, oct. 2 at Cushing Memorial Park from 1 to 3 p.m. Residents are encouraged to walk in the parks, to school or even in the Natick Mall. Keep track of your steps from October to December, and be eligible for prizes. Cost to join is $5 per person. The $5 registration includes a free pedometer to help you count your steps. At the kick-off event free hot dogs and cider will be served, compliments of Framingham Co-Operative Bank and the Friends of Parks & Recreation.

Town Manager Julian Suso was the guest scooper at the annual ice cream social and movie to end the summer reading program for kids at the main Framingham Library on Wednesday. Suso comes every year to scoop ice cream for the children. This year more than 1,700 children signed up for the summer reading program at the two library branches. More than 150 children attended the ice cream social followed by a free screening of Gnomeo & Juliet. Framingham Patch was proud to be a sponsor of the summer reading program along with Framingham Co-operative Bank and Friends of the Framingham Library.
