On Wednesday night, the Framingham Board of Health voted unanimously Wednesday to temporarily close Sabrina Wong III until it could pass an inspection. "Word is going to get out that you have a problem," Health Board Chair Michael Hugo told the owners Wednesday night. "But if you are open, it will say that it is solved." As part of the suspension of the license for one-day, the restaurant owners Annie Su and Yihuan Lei must also hire a food safety consultant and submit a plan by Tuesday, April 9 by 5 p.m. If not done, the restaurant's license could be suspended again. …

Just January, but 18 deaths and more than 5,000 confirmed flu cases reported in Massachusetts.
The Town of Framingham ran out of flu vaccines on Wednesday, said health Director Ethan Mascoop Thursday. "We are trying to get more," Mascoop said. The town started with 2,500 doses. Although it is very early into January, the state has reported 18 deaths and more than 5,000 confirmed flu cases this season. The City of Boston declared a public health emergency on Wednesday. “Last year, we had trouble giving it away because there was not much news about (flu shots) and relatively little flu,” said Mascoop to the Boston Herald. “It’s unfortunate that we have to say we don’t have it. Framingham Board of Health is waiting for answers and action from DEP before it moves ahead on what to do with Ellingwood Construction.
Members of the working group looking into possible illegal and health-related issues swirling around activities of Ellingwood Construction at its site in north Framingham reported limited progress in resolving a myriad of issues before the Board of Selectmen Tuesday night. Board of Health Director Ethan Mascoop told Selectmen the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has not adequately addressed some of the concerns of the working group and until they get some answers, there is very little the Board of Health can do to alleviate the situation.
