Playing against rival Weymouth High Wednesday night at Loring Arena, the Framingham High boys hockey team fell flat after the first period, departing for the locker room already three points behind. High hopes were in the air that the boys would take the “W” given they tied the Wildcats in their last match-up earlier this season 3-all. The team’s lone goal was scored in the second period when senior captain Jake McKinnon worked to assist sophomore Kevin Parker to “light the lamp” with a score. Weymouth scored two more goals within 38 seconds at the six-minute mark in the third period. Framingham will take the ice again Saturday, as they host Norwood at 5 p.m. Editor's Note: Thanks to Michelle Smith for these fabulous photos!

Framingham needed to win yesterday's game in regulation in order to qualify for the state tournament.
Framingham fell to Burlington 4-3 last night in the Ed Cahoon hockey tournament, hosted by Burlington, in the Flyers final game of the season. Burlington has now won the tournament seven times in its 19 year history and will hope to carry this momentum into the state tournament which is set to begin next week. The Red Devils found themselves in an early hole after Framingham defenseman Zealin Cronk scored on a shot from the point just 1:21 into the game to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead. The puck took a funny bounce in front on the net to get past Burlington goalie Derek DeCastro. This would be the only scoring of the first period and Framingham took the one goal lead into the dressing room. Burlington came out in the second period and …
