Slater Pitched a No Hit, Shutout in Flyers Win

Slater just missed a perfect game in the Flyers 2-0 win over Brookline High School.

Framingham's Sam Slater pitched a near perfect game last week for Framingham High School. Slater hurled a complete game, no-hit shutout in the Flyers 2-0 win over Brookline High. After retiring the first 12 players he faced, Slater hit a batter in the foot on an inside curve ball, giving up the free stroll down to first base. He then proceeded to neutralize every remaining Brookline plate appearance, including a game-ending pop-up to second base, to seal the special victory in the record books. Slater produced a hit of his own – a single to right field – to help his own cause. Mike Rotchford factored in both runs for the Flyers with an RBI and a run scored.
