In their first year competing in this competition circuit, the Flyers earned a gold medal in Division 3.
The Framingham Flyers High School Marching Band competed in the New England Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) Championships in Lawrence Saturday, Oct. 27. In their first year competing in this competition circuit, the Flyers earned a gold medal in Division 3. This is a tremendous accomplishment for them. It a fabulous way for the 18 seniors in the band to cap their high school marching years. Thanks to Framingham Patch reader Cheryl Elkins for uploading the photos for this sideshow. Members of the Framingham middle school bands joined the Framingham High School Marching Band Friday night. The purpose of the event is to introduce middle schoolers to the high school's marching band and for them to gain experience performing in public. Parade is Sunday, March 18 and is one of the 10 largest St. Patrick's Day parades in America.
The Framingham High School marching band was invited to march in the Holyoke's St. Patrick's Day parade on Sunday, March 18. This is their first year marching for the Flyers. Holyoke welcomes around 300,000 spectators to its parade of some 20,000 participants, equivalent to half the city's population Interested in making the trek to Western Massachusetts to watch the 61st annual parade, here is a link with parade details: www.holyokestpatricksparade.com/content/2012-parade-line Parade starts at noon and route is 2.65 miles long. Spectators behind line up very, very early in the morning. Framingham High School's Marching Band competed in the finals M.I.C.C.A. Festival last fall.

For the first time, the Framingham High marching band invited middle school students at Fuller, Cameron and Walsh to join them to play in the stands during Thursday night's football game.
