Framingham State University football team overcame a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game and scored on their possession in overtime to secure a 35-28 victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy in a New England Football Conference Bogan Divisional game at Framingham’s Maple Street Field on Homecoming and Family Weekend. The Rams improve to 4-1 on the season and are 2-0 in the division, while Mass. Maritime, who played their first overtime game since 1993, falls to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the division. The Framingham State University women’s soccer team recorded its first conference victory of the year with a 2-1 win over Salem State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer action Saturday afternoon at Maple Street Field. With the win, the Rams improve to 2-4 on the year and 1-1 in the Conference. The Rams took the early lead with a goal just under four minutes into the game. Junior forward Henrique DaSilva of Framingham recorded a goal and an assist en route to receiving the 2012 Peter J. Heffernan Jr. Award, as the Framingham State University men’s soccer team defeated Worcester State University 4-2 Saturday afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Maple Street Field. DaSilva is a former Framingham Flyer. With the win, the Rams improve to 1-3-1 on the year and 1-0 in the MASCAC, while the Lancers fall to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference. The Peter J. The 2011 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer regular season and tournament champion Framingham State University Rams will make the program’s third appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship this week as the Rams received the Conference's automatic bid after winning the conference tournament on Saturday. The Rams, who are making their first NCAA appearance since 2008, when they were eliminated by Middlebury College on penalty kicks, will travel to Montclair State where the Red Hawks will host two first round matches on Saturday and a second round match on Sunday. The Framingham State University men’s soccer team battled Clark University to a 0-0 double overtime draw Wednesday afternoon in non-conference men’s soccer action at Maple Street Field in Framingham. With the tie, both teams are now an identical 5-5-2 on the season. The Rams outshot the Cougars 27-10 in the game, but Clark University goalkeeper Ryan King was outstanding in net making 12 saves. The Framingham State University field hockey team snapped a four game skid with a 4-1 win Tuesday afternoon over Becker College in a non-conference matchup at Maple Street Field in Framingham. The Rams wasted no time taking control of the game as sophomore Demi Miskiv scored her team leading fifth goal of the season just under five minutes into the contest.
