Framingham's Cardoso Scores Rams Lone Goal in 1-1 Double OT Draw

Framingham State University men's soccer are now 1-3-2 on the season.

The Framingham State University men’s soccer team rallied from a goal down in the final minutes of regulation to tie the score and earn a 1-1 draw against Wesleyan University in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at Maple Street Field.    With the draw the Rams are now 1-3-2 on the season and the Cardinals, who are ranked 6th this week in New England, are now 3-1-1 on the year. The Cardinals controlled play in the first half outshooting the Rams 8-2, but only held a 1-0 advantage. Freshman Brandon Sousa had the ball in the box and juked a Ram defender to create space.  Sousa threaded a shot inside the far post for his first goal of the season in the 27th minute. Henrique DaSilva Receives 2012 Peter J. Heffernan Jr. Award

Framingham State Men's Soccer defeats Worcester State 4-2

Junior forward Henrique DaSilva of Framingham recorded a goal and an assist en route to receiving the 2012 Peter J. Heffernan Jr. Award, as the Framingham State University men’s soccer team defeated Worcester State University 4-2 Saturday afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Maple Street Field.    DaSilva is a former Framingham Flyer. With the win, the Rams improve to 1-3-1 on the year and 1-0 in the MASCAC, while the Lancers fall to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference. The Peter J. Heffernan Jr. Award is given annually to a member of the men’s soccer team for outstanding performance in a game.  Heffernan is a former University men’s soccer player and alum who tragically passed away in 2005 and the …

Framingham's Midfield Ronaldo Vieira Leads Goal Scorers for Rams

Framingham State University's Men's Soocer team earned its third NCAA tournament bid; play Montclair State Saturday.

The 2011 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer regular season and tournament champion Framingham State University Rams will make the program’s third appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship this week as the Rams received the Conference's automatic bid after winning the conference tournament on Saturday. The Rams, who are making their first NCAA appearance since 2008, when they were eliminated by Middlebury College on penalty kicks, will travel to Montclair State where the Red Hawks will host two first round matches on Saturday and a second round match on Sunday.  Framingham State (8-8-3) will face the host Red Hawks (15-3-3) who earned an at-large bid. Framingham Men’s Soccer, Clark Play to 0-0 Double Overtime Draw

Late in the first overtime period, Jepherson Cardoso of Framingham had a chance to redirect a cross into the open net, but his shot rolled just wide of the post.

The Framingham State University men’s soccer team battled Clark University to a 0-0 double overtime draw Wednesday afternoon in non-conference men’s soccer action at Maple Street Field in Framingham. With the tie, both teams are now an identical 5-5-2 on the season. The Rams outshot the Cougars 27-10 in the game, but Clark University goalkeeper Ryan King was outstanding in net making 12 saves. Framingham State net minder Sam Yoder was equally impressive making seven stops. Framingham State had several opportunities to score late in the first half including on a direct kick from sophomore Ronaldo Vieira, of Framingham, with 1:36 left. Vieira launched the kick on net from 25 yards out and it was bending towards the top corner, but King came …

The Framingham State University men’s soccer team rallied from a two goal first half deficit to defeat MCLA 3-2 in overtime Saturday in Framingham.

The Framingham State University men’s soccer team rallied from a two goal first half deficit to defeat MCLA 3-2 in overtime Saturday afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer action at Maple Street Field in Framingham. With the win, the Rams remain undefeated in the conference at 4-0 and improve to 5-5-1 overall on the season.  MCLA took a 2-0 lead midway through the first half.  In the 18th minute junior Gary D’Annunzio drilled a direct kick into the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Five minutes later, Jake McCall found Tedd Cecchetelli who sent a shot into the low corner of the net for the 2-0 lead. Rams Earn First Win of the Season

Former Flyer Ronaldo Vieira scored the winning goal in Framingham State's 2-0 win over Mass Maritime. The men's soccer team is now 1-3-1.

The Framingham State University men’s soccer opened Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon at its Maple Street Field with a 2-0 victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy.  With the win the Rams improve to 1-3-1 on the year and are 1-0 in conference. Sophomore Ronaldo Vieira, who played at Framingham High, scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 25th minute of action as he beat the Mass. Maritime goalkeeper with a perfectly place penalty shot. The Rams extended their lead to 2-0 in the second half as freshman Cory Cardeiro took a throw in and found junior Jepherson Cardoso of Framingham, who redirected the ball into the back of the net. Framingham State Mens Soccer Still Searching For First Win

The Rams lost to Roger Williams University on Tuesday 4-1.

The Roger Williams University defeated visiting Framingham State University 4-1 Thursday evening in non-conference action. Framingham State is still seeking its first win, as its record is now 0-3-1. Roger williams scored first. At the 33rd minute, when Ronaldo Vieira, of Framingham, knocked in a putback off of a blocked shot by William Menter to tie the game. Roger Williams would respond with a goal just before the end of the half. The Hawks of Roger Williams would extended its lead to 2-1 at the 63rd minute on a penalty kick. William Levitsky and Sam Yoder split time in net for Framingham State. Framingham State takes on Mass. Maritime Saturday at noon.

Engineers Shutout Framingham State 4-0

The Rams of Framingham State University lost a men's soccer game to Massachusetts Institute of Technology Wednesday.

A press release: Two goals by MIT in the first 10 minutes of action propelled it to a 4-0 win over Framingham State University in a non-conference men’s soccer tilt on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Zach Kabelac and freshmen Nick Diamantoni and John Kramer each recorded one goal and an assist for the Engineers. MIT got on the board after 8:41 expired in the opening frame.  The Rams nearly recorded the equalizer on their next possession courtesy of a line drive by Ronaldo Vieira, however, senior goalie Dylan Rankin made the diving grab. A free kick helped push MIT’s advantage to 3-0 in the 54th minute. The Rams’ best chance at ending the shutout occurred in the 72nd minute.
