Scott Signs 3-Year Contract; $200,000 Per Year

As Framingham Patch reported in its live blog Monday night, the School Committee voted 5-0 to ratify the contract with Stacy Scott to become the new Framingham Superintendent of Schools on July 1.

Stacy Scott will start his job as the new Framingham Superintendent of Schools on July 1. Scott, who is currently is the Dracut School Superintendent, was voted unanimously to be the new school leader by the School Committee in February. Last week, the School Committee and Scott agreed to a contract and both signed it. Monday night, the Framingham School Committee voted 5-0 to ratify the contract. School Committee Chair Beverly Hugo also released details of the contract at the meeting Monday night, of which Scott was not present. Scott's contract is July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015. School Committee Comes to Agreement With Dracut Superintendent

School Committee Chair Beverly Hugo said the School Committee will vote to ratify the contract and release details of the contract on Monday evening.

After "active negotiations," the Framingham School Committee "has come to an agreement" with Dracut Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott, said School Committee Chair Beverly Hugo Wednesday night. "We have executed a contract and will vote to ratify it in open session at our meeting Monday night," said Hugo. The School Committee voted unanimously early this month to hire Scott as the next superintendent of school for Framingham. Superintendent of Schools Steven Hiersche announced he would not return in August. Hugo said the School Committee would issue a press release on Monday evening with details of the contract.

Superintendent Search Down To Two Candidates: Dracut or Milford

The Assistant Superintendent of Schools from the Pentucket Regional School District has withdrawn his name as a finalist for the Framingham Public Schools position.

Framingham School Committee with need to decide between Dracut Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott or Milford Superintendent of Schools Robert Tremblay on Monday, Feb. 13. William Hart, the assistant superintendent of schools from the Pentucket Regional School District has withdrawn his name as a finalist. A team, which will include School Committee Chair Beverly Hugo and School Committee member Adam Blumer, will visit Dracut and Milford on Thursday. Thursday night, School Committee members will have a closed session to discuss references and the background checks on both finalists.

The press release contains only information the candidates presented to the screening committee vie their resumes. UPDATE: Dracut, Milford Superintendents and Pentucket Assistant Supt. Named 3 Finalists

The 15-member superintendent search committee identified three finalists for Framingham; interviews begin next week.

The finalists for the Framingham Superintendent of Schools, were announced at the Framingham School Committee Tuesday night. They are : The 15-member screening committee reviewed more than 30 resumes and interviewed 8-10 candidates before voting on these three finalists last Thursday. Framingham Superintendent of Schools Steven Hiersche announced in August he would not return at the end of his contract. School Committee Chair Beverly Hugo Public said finalist interviews are scheduled for Hart on Jan. 30, Tremblay on Feb. 1. and Scott on Feb. 2. There will be a public interview session from 5 to 6 p.m. each day at Cameron Middle School.
