Students in grades 2-8, are invited to attend a special workshop run by a Framingham High Drama Company student at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest.
Learn songs and dances from Hairspray led by cast members from the Framingham High School Drama Company at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest at a special one day workshop Thursday, June 7 from 3:30 to 7 p.m. For students in grades 2-8, they will get the opportunity to work with members of the award-winning high school drama company and then perform a show for parents at 7 p.m. Workshop cost is $10, and includes a pizza dinner. I am writing in praise of the Framingham High School Drama Company’s most recent musical theater performance, Hairspray; however, I am not writing to praise what you might expect ... its theatrics, musicianship, stage design, lighting, choreography! Instead, I am writing to praise the drama company’s contributions to the enrichment of the lives of the performers, the musicians, the crew and, also, the audience! In an age where there is so much focus on athletics and team sports, it was refreshing to see such a focus on the importance and the impact of art.
