Framingham Woman Coordinating Donations to NJ/NY Sandy Victims

What is needed: boots, batteries especially C & D, flashlights, hand/foot warmers, blankets, diapers, formula, baby food, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, winter coats, socks, non-perishable foods, shovels

As a nor'easter named Athena hits New York and New Jersey, there are still thousands of residents in those areas some homeless and others in the dark due to Hurricane Sandy. Some have been without electricity and heat for 10 days. Framingham resident Brenda Crawshaw is working with a group called "Massachusetts - New York Relief Runs" to bring much-needed supplies. Crawshaw, who has family in New Jersey (she said they are fine), is the Framingham coordinator for the group. She is amassing supplies for the "poorest and hardest hit communities in New York and New Jersey." Patch & AOL Send Hurricane Sandy Relief Trucks to Long Island, New Jersey

Our employees are helping out, and you can, too

It has been said it's far better to have a neighbor who's near, than a brother who's far away, but in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Americans across the nation have proven to be the best neighbors and the strongest of families. This past weekend, AOL and Patch employees took an opportunity to pitch in, packing two tractor trailers worth of food, water and supplies in Dulles, VA, and Baltimore.
