JCC To Close Pool, Clearbrook Swim Club
Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston announced today it will not open the 50-year old facility in Framingham this summer.
The JCC Clearbrook Swim Club's pool is in need of $100,000 worth of repairs and thus the 50-year old facility will not open this summer. "Compliance with new ADA requirements for swimming pools that went into effect as of Jan. 31, 2013 would cost nearly $100,000, and the pool needs a new pump, in addition to some other items. It is not financially feasible to continue to run the swim club. Reluctantly, we have decided that we cannot open the club this summer," said Mark Sokoll President and CEO of Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston, in a letter to families.
