McCarthy Elementary staged two shows of the original musical comedy Save My Ups!, written and directed by third grade teacher James Parr.
McCarthy Elementary School staged two shows of the original musical comedy, Save My Ups! last week for parents, family and friends. Almost 125 third, fourth and fifth grade students participated in H.A.A.M. (Hilarious Acting at McCarthy), an after-school drama program. The pigs, third grade actors and actresses, were part of the newest HAAM production at the elementary School. HAAM stands for Hilarious Acting at McCarthy. Written and directed by third grade teacher James Parr, The Pied Piper of HAAMelin featured 80 third, fourth and fifth grade students. School nurse Judy Wester designed a beautiful backdrop and oversaw all the scenery. Third grade teacher Kathy Kenney-Marshall assisted in the production, as she encouraged Parr to allow all 80 students who signed up to participate in the after-school program, instead of having the typical lottery for slots. Parent Sydney Turner, with …
