Framingham's three beaches opened yesterday, June 21. This photo was taken at Learneds Pond beach ysterday afternoon. The town's other beaches are in Saxonville and at Waushakum Lake. They are open daily through Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Beach passes are required for admittance. Resident season passes may be purchased at the Parks & Recreation office. Cost is $15 per person or $40 per family. Daily passes can be purchased at each beach - $3 per person for resident and $6 per person for non-resident. Lifeguards are at all three beaches.

The Framingham Board of Health has re-opened Saxonville Beach. Framingham Parks & Recreation was notified of the re-opening late this afternoon, Aug. 11. Two of the town's three beaches were closed on Aug. 10, due to water quality, like because of the heavy rains. A decision on when Lake Waushakum beach will re-open will come tomorrow, Aug. 12. The town's three beaches, including Learneds Pond, are open daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Aug. 18

Saxonville Beach and Lake Waushakum beach are closed today, Aug. 10 due to water quality, Framingham Parks & Recreation posted on its Facebook page. All swim lessons have been moved to Learneds Pond on Lower Shawmut Terrace. Instructors will be on site at the same scheduled time. Rain or shine. Framingham Board of Health will be testing the water today, and Framingham Parks & Recreation Department should have an update late Thursday afternoon.

Posted on the Parks and Recreation Facebook Page after 4 p.m. today, is the news that Lake Waushakum is closed due to poor water quality. Saxonville Beach and Learneds Pond are open and will be open Wednesday.

Posted on the Framingham Parks and Recreation Facebook page after 4 p.m. today: "Unfortunately, due to poor water quality, swimming at Waushakum Beach (Nipmuc Rd.) will not be allowed today. The Board of Health will re-test the water tomorrow and, hopefully, we will re-open Thursday afternoon. In the meantime, please visit either Saxonville Beach (Lake Rd.) or Learneds Pond (Shawmut Terrace) to cool off in this extreme heat." Learneds Pond and Saxonville Beach will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Both were closed earlier this season in June. One for poor water quality and one due to the state treating weeds.
