The Marian High School Girls Soccer Team was awarded the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association 2012 Soccer Team Sportsmanship Award.

The Marian High School Girls Soccer Team has been awarded the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) 2012 Soccer Team Sportsmanship Award. The honor was presented at the State Soccer Championships Saturday, Nov. 17.

Marian High defeated Diman 3-0 tonight in a playoff game at Loring Arena in Framingham.

Marian High defeated #13 Diman 3-0 tonight in a playoff game at Loring Arena. The Marian High team was ranked #20. They will play 4th-seeded Westwood on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. in Foxboro.

Three Teams Make State Playoffs

Keefe Tech boys basketball, Marian boys hockey and Framingham girls hockey will all be playing state tounament games this week.

Three Framingham teams, one from each of the three high schools in town, will be heading into state tournament play this week. Additionally, three Framingham High wrestlers will be competing in the All New England Championships in New Haven Friday and Saturday. WRESTLING: Framingham’s Sa places second in All-State tournament The Flyers’ Gil Sa lost by a 10-3 decision to Needham’s James Carroll in the finals of the 130-pound class during the All-State tourney at Salem High on Saturday. “I was a little off my game,” said Sa. “I was more cautious than normal and I didn’t take any risks. But he’s tough. I’m not happy that there is somebody better than me. I’ll see him again this weekend.” Framingham advanced three wrestlers to the New England …

Ken Seitz

Running the Marian High offensive is something that comes naturally to basketball player Ken Seitz.

Ken Seitz Class: Junior Age: 16 High School: Marian High Sport: Basketball Position: Shooting guard Year first started competing: Freshman Career highlight: Scoring a three-pointer in the final 10 seconds in last year’s state tournament to advance Marian to the next round. Favorite athlete: Ray Allen (Celtics): “He’s a great all-around person, both on the court and what he does off the court.” At 6-3 Kenny Seitz has a height advantage on most of the defensive players he encounters on the basketball floor. As a shooting guard he is able to get into position and pop up jumpers at an 11-points per game average. “The mid-range, about 15-feet, is the best part of my game,” said the Marian High junior who was named Framingham Patch's Male …

Andrew Lewis

Competing for Marian High and studying at Keefe Tech, Andrew Lewis gives Marian its offensive punch.

Andrew Lewis Class: Junior Age: 17 High School: Plays for Marian High; a student at Keefe Tech Sport: Hockey Position: Left wing Year first started competing: Freshman; began competitive hockey at age 5. Career highlight: Lead his team to the state tournament last year and scored a goal and an assist in the team’s first game win.   Andrew Lewis has to do a quick identity switch every day during hockey season. He morphs from being a student at Keefe Tech to a left winger for Marian High. But the change doesn’t limit him or take away from his game. In fact, Lewis is one of five Keefe tech students playing for Marian this season. “We push common goals and we have good chemistry,” said Lewis. The Keefe Tech and Marian skaters have been playing…

Dec. 29: Flyers Wrestling Tournament Begins Today

Keefe Technical plays in the finals of the Mustang Classic tonight at Marian High. Library hosting several activities for children and adults.

1. Framingham High School hosts its annual wrestling tourney beginning today at the high school. Matches for the Framingham Holiday Tournament begin at 9:30 a.m. 2. Keefe Tech boys basketball team will take on Dover-Sherborn in the finals of the Mustang Classic at Marian High tonight at 7:15. 3. The Main Framingham Public Library will hold a drop-in craft time between 1 and 4 p.m. 4. The weather today is expected to be windy and cold again, with highs in the 30s. 5. The main Framingham Library branch will hold a poetry workshop tonight from 7-9.
