Ashland Republican to Run For U.S. Senate

The former chair of the Ashland Board of Selecmen will run as a Republican for the U.S. Senate seat in Masachusetts. He plans to make a formal announcement Thursday afternoon.

Former Chair of the Ashland Board of Selectmen Jon Fetherston told Framingham Patch he will be a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate. Fetherston, who ran an unsuccessful campaign against State Rep. Tom Sannincadro, has started the the process to obtain 10,000 certified signatures to be on the special election Republican Primary ballot on April 30. "(Fetherston's Campaign Manager) Terry (Hendrix) is going to the Secretary of States office in the morning to pull the papers and then my volunteer team will blitz the state and start the process! Former Brown Aide Chosen to Head State GOP

Kristen Hughes, the former deputy finance chairman for the Sen. Scott Brown campaign, won a narrow vote Thursday night to become the new chairwoman of the Massachusetts Republican Party, according to Boston.com.  The vote took place at the Verve in Natick. Hughes, 35, will replace outgoing chairman Robert A. Maginn, Jr. Before joining Brown's campaign – and becoming his choice to lead the GOP through the upcoming election cycle – Hughes worked as a Quincy city councilor. As Brown's aide, she helped raise $42 million. Framingham resident Janet Leombruno recently attended the Republican National Convention in Tampa and shared her "Republican vacation" photos with Framingham Patch. While not an official delegate, Leombruno is a member of the Massachusetts Republican Committee. She was elected as the committee woman for the Second Middlesex & Norfolk district. Her district includes her hometown of Framingham as well as six other communities. Leombruno, who is an elected Town Meeting member in Framingham for Precinct 5, is also a member of Scott Brown's Women for Brown Coalition. Scott Brown's Wife to Campaign in Framingham Thursday

Gail Huff, the wife of Sen. Scott Brown, will be at the Massachusetts Republican office in Framingham tonight to kick off the Women for Brown phone bank.

Gail Huff, the wife of Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown, will be at the Massachusetts Republican office on Route 9 in Framingham tonight kicking off the Women for Brown phone bank. She will be joined by state representative candidate Jon Fetherston, a Republican, challenging Tom Sannicandro to represent Ashland and precincts 8, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18 in Framingham in the State House. The public is invited to the Republican office at 1671 Worcester Rd, Suite 300 at 4:30 p.m. Today is also state's primary election. Both Brown and Fetherston are running unopposed in the primary on the Republican ballot.

Republicans Campaign For Fetherston in Framingham

The Massachusetts Republican Party opened one of its 10 offices in Framingham, giving support to former Ashland Selectmen Chair Jon Fetherston's campaign to win a state representative seat.

The Massachusetts Republican Party established a "Massachusetts Victory 2012" office in Framingham, one of 10 offices across the Commonwealth. Wednesday night, Jon Fetherston held an event at the office. Fetherston, a former chair of the Ashland Board of Selectmen, is seeking to unseat Tom Sannicandro as state representative for the 7th Middlesex District. The district represents Ashland and six precincts in Framingham. Located at 1671 Worcester Rd, Suite 300, the office provides the Fetherston campaign with  dedicated offices, use of the call center, use of volunteers, and other resources to defeat his Democratic opponent in November. Good luck with that....any Republican running for any office in this town has an uphill battle especially in a town that votes Democratic by default. They could get a monkey to run and it would get more votes than a Republican. Nevins Hall to Host 5th Congressional District Republican Caucus Today

Three Framingham residents Nicholas Sanchez, Ed McGrath and Janet Leombruno are on the official slate for Mitt Romney.

The Massachusetts 5th Congressional District Caucus will take place this morning, April 29 at Nevins Hall inside the Memorial Building. Registered Republicans must arrive between 9-10 a.m.   The official Mitt Romney (for president) slate is made up of six individuals: Delegates: Dan Haley, Nicolas Sanchez and Ed McGrath. Alternates: Scott Conway, Janet Leombruno and Bryana Tucci. Sanchez, McGrath and Leombruno are from Framingham.
