Officials in district attorney offices around the country are showing support for slain Texas prosecutors with black ribbons today.
Black ribbons were donned by the staff of Middlesex District Attorney’s Office as they joined prosecutors in Massachusetts and across the country in signifying their solidarity and compassion for prosecutors who have recently been killed in Texas. “Everyday the staff of the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office protects and serves our communities by standing up and speaking for victims without a voice,” said District Attorney Gerry Leone in a press release Thursday. “Prosecutors and all law enforcement in the Commonwealth make our communities safer while at times putting themselves in harms way on behalf of others. Our thoughts today, as we continue to fight for justice, remain with those families who have lost loved ones in these horrible …

The organized protest purposely coincided with an assembly in which teen boys were asked to pledge not to commit violence against women.
Framingham High teens this morning protested against what they say was a lack of response to two sexual assaults at the high school. The teenagers said they are upset by the lack of response by many adults - school, police and the district attorney's office - to two sexual assaults that they and at least one school employee say happened at Framingham High last spring. The assaults were allegedly perpetrated by the same male athlete against two different female students inside the school. "It is time to expose what has been hidden for too long," said senior Jessica Krueger. "I can't allow the school to keep hiding these incidents." Nearly 20 students scheduled their protest at the same time as Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone was …

The Middlesex District Attorney's office had a special guest on Thursday. Middlesex DA Gerry Leone welcomed John Kerry, who on Tuesday was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the next Secretary of State. Prosecutor said, Wednesday in court, the Framingham man lived in the apartment with his wife's dead body before fleeing to Mexico with the couple's oldest child. He was upset the wife's 2-week old baby was not his daughter.
A Framingham man when he learned the baby girl, born July 23, 2010, was the product of an extramarital affair stabbed his unfaithful teenage wife to death and then lived in their apartment for days with her decaying corpse and their older child before fleeing solo to Mexico, prosecutors said Wednesday in Middlesex District Superior Court in Woburn. Heather Alleyne, just two weeks after delivering her daughter Neveah — heaven spellled backward — and one day after she gave up custody of the infant to the baby’s biological father to save her marriage, “suffered a brutal and excruciating death,” Assistant Middlesex District Attorney Joseph Gentile Jr. said on the opening day of Kyle Alleyne’s trial on first-degree murder charges, reported the …
