State dive teams searched one week for missing 2-year-old Caleigh Anne Harrison. The search was ended April 26, one week after the toddler was reported missing off the Long Beach shore in Rockport. She was with her 4-year-old sister and the family dog, when her mother chased a ball that had gone over a fence. When she returned, Caleigh was missing. Prevailing thought is she was swept out to sea, but the family thinks she may have been abducted. State investigators have no leads as to Caleigh’s whereabouts, and unless there are new clues as to where she went, the search will remain finished. Should state investigators have stopped looking? I believe this completely because I am a mom and this happened to my 2 yr old luckily I jumped into the water and grabbed her, and my husband came to our rescue. I still think of this whole incident with a shudder and know the forces of nature . I am very careful now going to the ocean with young kids.   more ›
