4th of July Parade Cancelled
Parade had been a Natick tradition beginning in 1956.
The Natick Friends of the Fourth have announced that there will be no 4th of July parade in Natick this year. In announcing the cancellation, they cited a lack of volunteers and time to prepare as the reasons. They did note, though, that there would still be other events. The annual 4th of July parade has been a popular event among residents in Natick and Framingham, where many residents would put out chairs overnight to reserve their seats along Route 135. A few years ago the joint Natick-Framingham fireworks were cancelled, making the parade the second Independence Day tradition to come to an end within the past few years.
