The following was submitted by the Massachusetts State Police: Last Week, Massachusetts State Police Colonel Timothy P. Alben accepted a donation of stuffed animal toys from Project Smile. The stuffed animals will be distributed to road troopers to be given to children to help comfort them at motor vehicle crashes and other traumatic events to which State Police respond. Project Smile’s Executive Director Catherine Piscane made the donation at the Massachusetts State Police Headquarters, located at 470 Worcester Rd, Framingham. This has been her third donation. Natick Girl Scouts invited Framingham Girl Scouts to participate in a 100th Anniversary Promise Circle on Monday night, March 12.
On March 12, 2012, Girl Scouts across the country are gathering to celebrate the actual day that marks the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting in America. One hundred years ago, on March 12, 1912, Juliette Low held the first Girl Scout meeting in Savannah, Georgia. To commemorate this historic event, all Girl Scouts, girls and adults, are invited to say the Girl Scout Promise at the same time in a symbolic event called a “Promise Circle.” Natick will hold a Promise Circle Celebration on March 12, 2012 at 7 p.m. on the Natick Common.
