Three Seek Two Planning Board Seats [VIDEO]

Incumbent Planning Board candidate Tom Mahoney is the one name on the ballot. Stephanie Mercandetti and Ned Price are both running write-in campaigns for the two Planning Board seats.

On Tuesday, Framingham voters will head to the polls. One of the races is for the Framingham Planning Board. There are two seats available. Incumbent Tom Mahoney is the only name on the ballot. Stephanie Mercandetti and Ned Price are both running write-in campaigns for a seat. Voters may only vote for two candidates. Earlier this month, the Framingham Town-Wide PTO held a candidates forum. Each of the three Planning Board candidates participated. Framingham Patch videotapes each candidate's one-minute opening statement. You can view those statements, unedited, attached to this report. Submitted by the candidates or their committees: Write-in Planning Board candidate Ned Price's campaign is hosting a kick-off event Thursday, March 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the British Beer Company. POLITICAL NOTEBOOK: Candidates, their campaign members, and residents are invited to submit fundraiser and other campaign-related events. Maximum word count is 250 words. Deadline for submission is Friday, March 23 for anything related to the Town Election on April 3. The final day events will be published is March 25.

Ned Price A Write-In Candidate for Planning Board

Retired Framingham State professor and long-time Town Meeting member Ned Price is running a write-in campaign for a seat on the Framingham Planning Board.

I am announcing my candidacy for a seat on the Framingham Planning Board. I am qualified. Every year, except one of the past 24 years, I have served as a Framingham Town Meeting member from Precinct 17 and on Town Meeting's Standing Committee on Planning and Zoning, which works closely with the Planning Board.  As a member of P&Z, I gained a good working knowledge of the Framingham Zoning By-Law, and reviewed the many amendments before Town Meeting.  In 1994,  I also served on the Finance Committee and for 3 years I served as an Associate Member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.  Furthermore I have served for more than 20 years on the  Real Property Committee and am currently its Chair.
