Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian and Baltimore City Sheriff John W. Anderson spoke by phone Friday and agreed to a friendly wager on the outcome of tonight's Patriots-Ravens AFC Championship game. “It was great to speak with Sheriff Anderson today. A limited number of tickets to the Jan. 20 AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough go on sale to the general public on tomorrow, Jan. 17.
For the ninth time in 20 playoff appearances, the New England Patriots are just one game from advancing to the Super Bowl. That game will be played at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. against the Baltimore Ravens. It is the second consecutive season the Patriots and Ravens will meet in the AFC Championship game at Gillette Stadium. New England beat Baltimore in last season’s AFC title game, 23-20 to advance to Super Bowl XLVI. The Patriots are 7-1 all-time in AFC Championship Games, including 4-0 in Foxborough (3-0 at Gillette Stadium) but just 1-1 against the Ravens in the postseason. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are back in the playoffs and will be in search of their fourth Super Bowl championship since 2002. The Patriots clinched a playoff spot and ended the season with a 12-4 record. Also, thanks to their Dec. 10 win over the Houston Texans (also a 12-4 team), the Pats earned a bye in the first round of the playoffs. While there will not be a Patriots game this weekend, there will still be plenty of action. It's also a good chance to watch the upcoming competition. Patriots President Jonathan Kraft told media Sunday The Kraft Group and his family will be donating $25,000 to those affected by the Newtown tragedy. On Sunday, the Patriots honored the 26 victims of the school shooting with a special moment of silence.

Tonight is good night to have multiple televisions, or at least a DVR.
At 7 p.m. the 64th Prime Time Emmy Awards show begins, with host Jimmy Kimmel stirring the pot, on ABC. Meanwhile, CBS will be broadcasting a segment featuring President Obama and Mitt Romney in separate but, presumably, equal interviews on "60 Minutes" to help voters get inside their heads. That will air from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. ET. And at 8 p.m., the New England Patriots will take the field againt the Baltimore Ravens, making it a big night for television viewers across a multitude of interests. What will you be watching?
