Newtown Dad 'Proud To Be A Flyer'
A Scroll of Support From Framingham High students, staff and teachers is proudly displayed at Newtown High School.
In 1983, David J. Burke graduated from Framingham South High School. Twenty-nine years later, Burked emailed Framingham High Principal Michael Welch to say he is "proud to be a Flyer." Burke, his wife and his daughter, 8, today live in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. On Christmas Eve, the couple attended their daughter's Christmas pageant at Newtown High School. Burke said displayed over the trophy case at the entrance of the Connecticut High School, in the same community where 20 students and 6 adults were killed on Dec. 14, was a banner from Framingham High School students.
