A Nashua, N.H. woman was arrested Sunday night for OUI, after striking a detail officer, according to Framingham Police.
UPDATED 12:45 p.m. Framingham Police arrested a Nashua, N.H. woman Sunday night at 11 at 100 Concord St. Maria Barriga, 34, of 107 Pine St. struck a detail officer, at the intersection of Concord and Frederick streets at 10:45 p.m. The male officer was struck by the front quarter panel of the vehicle and again by the vehicle's mirror according to Framingham Police Lt. Ron Brandolini. He was taken to MetroWest Medical Center. The officer has not been identified. The extent of his injuries are unknown, said Brandolini. Onyango Obama, reportedly the uncle of President Barack Obama, was arrested in Framingham for alleged OUI.
Onyango Obama, an apparent uncle of President Barack Obama, was arrested in Framingham for an alleged OUI on Aug. 24, according to the Framingham Police Department. An officer in an unmarked car reportedly pulled over the Mitsubishi SUV with a Massachusetts registration for failure to stop for oncoming traffic near the intersection of South Street and Waverly Street. The officer reportedly noticed that the driver, 67-year-old Obama, had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech and smelled like alcohol, according to a release from police, which stated Obama said he only had two beers. Brian P. Hale, Director of Public Affairs, ICE confirmed that Onyango Obama was released from ICE custody on Sept. 8th 2011 on an order of supervision. He is required to regularly check in with ICE authorities. ICE typically does not discuss these case, but since Oyango Obama, was such a high profile case, made a statement last year on his release. more ›
