Framingham School Committee is scheduled to announce finalists for the superintendent of schools position tonight; public interviews are scheduled to begin next week.

Framingham Issued Onyango Obama Alcohol Servers ID

The half-brother of President Obama's father was arrested in Framingham and charged with OUI last week. For 19 years, he ignored a deportation order and three times he was issued a Massachusetts driver's license.

Obama's Uncle Arrested for Alleged OUI in Framingham

Onyango Obama, reportedly the uncle of President Barack Obama, was arrested in Framingham for alleged OUI.

Onyango Obama, an apparent uncle of President Barack Obama, was arrested in Framingham for an alleged OUI on Aug. 24, according to the Framingham Police Department. An officer in an unmarked car reportedly pulled over the Mitsubishi SUV with a Massachusetts registration for failure to stop for oncoming traffic near the intersection of South Street and Waverly Street. The officer reportedly noticed that the driver, 67-year-old Obama, had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech and smelled like alcohol, according to a release from police, which stated Obama said he only had two beers. Police said Obama did not pass field sobriety tests and he was then arrested for OUI, failure to yield and operating a motor vehicle to endanger. He is being held …

Brian P. Hale, Director of Public Affairs, ICE confirmed that Onyango Obama was released from ICE custody on Sept. 8th 2011 on an order of supervision. He is required to regularly check in with ICE authorities. ICE typically does not discuss these case, but since Oyango Obama, was such a high profile case, made a statement last year on his release.   more ›
