Sen. Richard Moore to Join Compounding Pharmacy Panel

Sen. Richard Moore will serve on the Special Commission on Compounding Pharmacies, a state-appointed panel that will review regulatory practices in other states.

State Sen. Richard Moore, who represents the Milford area, will serve on a state panel that will make recommendations on regulations for compounding pharmacies. The Special Commission on Compounding Pharmacies was created following a deadly outbreak of fungal meningitis, linked to the New England Compounding Center in Framingham. The 10-member commission will review best practices in other states for regulations of compounding pharmacies that create injectible medications, according to a press release. It will make recommendations on proposed regulations or amendments to state or federal laws to protect consumers. State Holds Hearing on Bill to Change Immigration Rules

Framingham Town Meeting Member Jim Rizoli was among the MetroWest residents who testified Tuesday, along with the family of Matthew Denice.

BOSTON — The family of Matthew Denice testified Tuesday in support of legislation that would target some of the impacts of illegal immigration on communities, including Framingham. Introduced by state Rep. John Fernandes (D-Milford) and state Sen. Richard Moore (D-Uxbridge), along with two Republican representatives, the bill targets numerous issues in the areas of public contracts, public housing, public safety and motor vehicle registrations.
