UPDATED: Superintendent on Lack of Teacher Contract: 'I Know There is Frustration'
As teachers have been wearing red shirts to publicly state they are without a contract, Framingham Superintendent of Schools addressed the lack of a contract and talked about negotiations at Tuesday night's School Committee meeting.
UPDATED at 10 a.m.- Added quotes from the Teachers Association President *** Framingham teachers, on certain days, have been wearing red shirts as a sign of solidarity while teaching. Currently, the Framingham Public Schools teachers are working without a contract. The current one-year contract expired in August. Negotiations began earlier this year with the School Committee and then Superintendent of Schools Steven Hiersche. In the past two weeks, emails have been circulating among parents about the contract. One email encourages parents to attend a December meeting in support of the teachers.
